Skylanders: Ring of Heroes
The original Skylanders had a unique concept: placing Spyro the Dragon's toys and other characters on the dock using a special device, and then playing as that character in the game. Play as more characters, collect more toys. Action game driven by merchandise was a hit with kids, not only because of merchandising, but also because of good graphics, humorous writing and easy-to-learn gameplay. The Skylanders franchise now has a new mobile offer-a turn-based RPG called Skylanders: Heroes' Ring.
Com2uS is the studio behind Skylanders: Heroes' Ring, an attempt to revive a mobile RPG franchise similar to their previous hit, Summoner's War. The player wanders the Skylands and gathers in-game creatures for use in battles. The official website, which offers all kinds of in-game currency bonuses to re-register and watch promotional videos, indicates that this will be a free-to-play title with bonus in-app purchases. However, it remains to be seen how essential they are to gameplay.
